About buying a used truck under $30,000
At this budget it is usually a midsize pickup that parks easily in the city, or an older full-size with more room and towing. Compare mileage with the service records. Pay for 4x4 only if you need it; it costs more to buy and maintain. Look for signs of hard work — a worn hitch, a beaten-up bed, a sagging rear — and ask about the tow package. A crew cab carries a family; an extended cab carries tools.
