The RamBox is also a cooler.
If your truck has RamBox, the lockable bins in the sides of the bed have drain plugs. Fill one with ice and drinks, and when the party's over, pull the plug. They're also a good place to lock up tools.
RamBox first showed up on the 2009 Ram 1500. Pull the drain plug in the bottom to let melted ice out.
The tailgate opens two ways.
If yours has the multifunction tailgate (2019 and newer), it drops down like any tailgate, but it also splits and swings open like a barn door. That lets you walk right up to the bed or get closer to a hitch.
With the gate swung open, you can walk right up to the bed instead of leaning over a dropped tailgate.
It might be a mild hybrid.
Many 2019 and newer Ram 1500s have eTorque: a small electric motor and battery that help the engine get moving and make the stop-start nearly invisible. If your engine restarts at a light without a shudder, that's why.
Rather the engine didn't shut off at lights? Press the stop-start off button; it resets each time you start the truck.
